Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine the land suitability class of melon plants. The land suitability evaluation method used in this study is the matching method, and the sampling method is carried out by orientation and observation and sampling in the field, by taking soil chemical properties using a soil drill and taking samples of soil physical properties used at a depth of 0-45 cm. Then continued the analysis at the Laboratory of the East Kalimantan Agricultural Technology Study Center. The results showed that the land suitability class for the development of melon (Cucumis melo L) cultivation in Singa Gembara Village, North Sangatta District, was S3 (Marginal Appropriate) with limiting factors namely soil pH, base saturation, C-Organic and K-Available. The results of the study in Singa Geweh Village, Sangatta Selatan were included in the S2 land suitability class (quite suitable) with the limiting factors of base saturation, slope and K -Available.
