Abstract
This research was carried out with two objectives namely, identifying scientific names and local names along with a description of the Diospyros family in the STIPER garden and forest education and to find out the habitus of the diospyros family in the STIPER garden and education forest. This research was conducted within February 2020 in the farm and Forest Education STIPER Karangan Hilir Village, East Kutai Regency. The study was conducted using three methods, namely purposive exploration method which is an activity to find the object of research by exploring the research location, the method of description that is data collection in the field by describing the morphology of diospyros and identification methods, namely The results of this study indicate that in the Gardens and Forests of STIPER Education in Karanag Hilir Village, East Kutai Regency, there are 3 types of Diospyros including, Diospyros macrophylla BL, Diospyros borneensis HIEM, and Diospyros foxworthyi, with where the habitus is only in the form of trees and shrubs.
