Abstract

This study aims to determine the biomass and carbon storage stored in Flamboyant trees in the Botanical Gardens of East Kutai Regency. The method used is direct field measurements on plots of 20x20 m for trees, 10x10 m for poles, 5x5 m fo saplings and 2x2 m fo seedlings. While for litter fall, a plot of 1x1 m is used. The data was calculated using allometric following the formula of Hairiah and Rahayu (2007) and for the carbon calculation following the 2011 BSN. Based on the results of the study, 26 species of vegetation were found in the research plots. The average carbon storage is 57,52 tons ha -1 or about 1092,92 tons for a botanical area of 19 ha. The carbon storage of Flamboyant trees is 100,43 tons or about 9,58% of the total carbon storage in the stand and 9,19% of the total aboveground carbon storage.
