Abstract

Hand tractor is a type of tractor that is widely used especially in soil tillage by farmers in an effort to increase productivity. The yield of soil tillage is influenced by plowing pattern and working speed of hand tractor, meanwhile the plowing pattern and working speed influenced working capacity and fuel consumption. The aim of this research was to determine the amount of fuel consumption, working capacity and efficiency of hand tractor by using a single and double moldboard plow by tillage pattern side. Research used randomized block design (RBD) consisting 2 treatments, namely Single Moldboard Plow (SMP) and Double Moldboard Plow (DMP) which was 3 replicated. Research parameters were calculate fuel consumption, working capacity, efficiency of hand tractor, soil physical properties, soil volume weight and soil moisture content. The results showed that total fuel consumption using a single moldboard plow 0,164 l hour -1 , meanwhile double moldboard plow 0,219 l hour -1 . Working capacity of single moldboard plow average 0,820 h hour -1 and double moldboard plow 0,120 ha hour -1 by the efficiency of a single moldboard plow 79% and double moldboard plow 76%. The physical properties was clay textured soil with T 1BS values 58% and T2 BS 61%, soil volume weight was low category average 0,840 gr cm -3 and soil moisture content was high average 56,742%.
